Tagged: Compressor
Good afternoon,
We currently have problems with our compressor set which is powered by steam and tail gas.
Our compressor is manufactured by Franco Tosi. And during normal operation theres no problem but there are some prohibitive RPM’s.
What happens during those prohibitive RPM’s is that the whole set loses about 300 rpm.
Our governor is a model WOODWARD PG-200/300 and is revised yearly, and apparently everything is ok.
What can be the problem?
Hi, Only an uneducated guess but any chance that the tail gas from the combustor is cooler at this time and hence less expander power leading to turbine being overleded??
Yes that can be happening, but no idea why. It only happens at some specific RPM’s. Let’s say at 6130 it loses power, but not at 6100 nor 6200.
