Haifa Chemicals announced on June 3rd, that it decided not to resume its fertilizers production activity in its northern (Haifa) fertilizer plant, and to examine alternatives to its operation in a different format.
The company’s northern fertilizer plant, which employed 250 workers, was closed for a year, due to the closure of the ammonia tank in Haifa– the main raw material used to produce its fertilizers. Haifa Chemicals accused the Municipality of Haifa of this final closure, related to its withdrawal of its business license. ”
