Fertilizer Industrial Services performed a Process Safety Management system Gap Analysis for this fertilizer company in Europe.
The Situation
The client’s strategic vision had recently been updated, placing the Process Safety Management as a leading entity with responsibility to establish a company-wide HSSE Risk Management Framework. This meant the Process Safety Management system needed to be aligned with this new vision.
Approach
The main objective was to determine what it was required for the client to develop a fit-for-purpose, structured and effective scope of work for the re-appraisal of its Process Safety Management system that comprehensively laid out the HSSE requirements for all business activities.
Through a series of meetings, reviews of daily operations and system analyses, Fertilizer Industrial Services consultants assessed the current situation and recorded findings and recommendations.
Results
The findings and recommendations from the analysis, together with a comprehensive plan for implementation, were delivered by means of a full report, as well as a management presentation. The study was framed and executed in an extremely tight schedule and the final presentation and report were delivered on time and attracted no major comments.
Together with the main report, a series of procedures to comply with Process Safety Management system were developed specifically for this client. Workshops were held together with client engineers from Plant Operation, Maintenance and Project teams to explain the newly developed procedures and train them is using such tools on a daily basis.
